Guiding and COVID Risk Management.

Guiding and COVID Risk Management.

As guides, our primary job is to manage mountain-related risk, while still being able to provide an exceptional experience for our guests. COVID is now another type of risk that we as guides and the greater community have a responsibility to manage & navigate together. Our industry is fortunate, in that our basic operating area, the backcountry, has vast open space for physical distancing and ample fresh air.

While the situation continues to evolve we are using the best available information and health recommendations to keep you, our guest and our guides safe and healthy for the winter guiding season. Here are the measures that we have and will be taking for the winter & Summer guiding season;

Face masks & physical distancing.
Masks are mandatory for both guides and guests when in confined spaces or where appropriate physical distancing is not possible, this includes although is not limited to; close proximity instructional occurrences, at multi pitch climbing stations, on a gondola or lifts, in a helicopter, or in any other close proximity situation.

Declaration of COVID exposure or Symptoms.
All guests and guides must declare any potential exposure to COVID, or symptoms of COVID before the guiding day. Guests will be required to fill out and sign a pre trip/course Declaration of heath and exposure form. An electronic version of the form will be sent with your booking confirmation. See example of form here here

COVID Exposure Refund Policy

If you don’t meet the requirements of the “Declaration of health and exposure form” or if you believe you have been exposed to COVID and you declare this at any time prior to the start of the trip, you will receive a full credit to the value of which you have paid. This credit can be used after a period of 14 days and until the end of the winter guiding season.
