Up your crack game!

What does it take to climb harder cracks? Why do my jams always feel so insecure or strenuous? These questions will be answered in this single day session. This program is designed to increase your crack climbing performance by providing you with a greater understanding of jamming techniques through the range of sizes. To progress we practice on a variety of different crack sizes, from fingers to off fingers, hand, and fist sized cracks. Expect a fairly fast paced day with short tutorials followed by coached practice. Each course is customized through an understanding of you the client, the grades you climb and what you find difficult.

Intuitive or Learned?

While face climbing movement is fairly intuitive, crack climbing is not. Each individual jamming technique from finger locks to ring locks and hand jams need to be learned and practised.

Is this for you?

This course is for anyone who wants to improve their crack climbing technique, to feel secure on a variety of crack climbing sizes. You may have climbed for a while without any formal training or are an experienced gym or face climber and are still fairly new to crack climbing. Each day is customized to the groups ability, and a lower guest to instructor ratio means each participant gets personal coaching by a full ACMG rock guide with 10 years of guiding experience. This will up your crack game, I guarantee it.

COVID and Rock Guiding

Just like other areas of our lives, we can mitigate the spread of the virus with the use of masks.

Masks are required when we are in close proximity for example an instruction situation or at a multi pitch station. Because we are not in a confined space and we have the benefit of fresh air and the great outdoors we can remove our masks once the 2m proximity rule has been passed. This means climbing without a mask although having it in close for when doing partner checks, for example, or any other close proximity situations occurs. Please see our extensive COVID risk management plan on the About page, in the main menu.
